Founded in 1964 as an offshoot of Dunlop Australia, Dunlop PNG has evolved into Papua New Guinea’s largest independent retailer of tyres, batteries, and automotive products. Over the decades, Dunlop PNG has expanded its services and product offerings to meet the evolving needs of PNG’s industrial, transport, and commercial sectors.

Local Ownership

Transitioned to local ownership under Tyres PNG Ltd (Jason Knight & James Green); rapid growth phase begins.

Retread Expansion

Opened a Retread Factory, becoming a major provider of retread tyres in PNG for commercial and industrial fleets.

Lubricants Introduced

Expanded into lubricants by importing Conoco-branded oils for vehicles and machinery.

TotalEnergies Partnership

First in PNG to sell TotalEnergies lubricants after Conoco’s shutdown, bringing premium oils to the market.

Retail & Industrial Growth

Acquired Tyres 4U PNG to strengthen the retail network; introduced Double Bunded Fuel Tanks with FES Tanks (Australia).

Coolant Manufacturing

Added a Reverse Osmosis Plant to manufacture high-quality coolants locally and improve supply chain reliability.

Sustainability Initiative

Launched Carbon Recycling Limited (CEPA-authorized) to recycle used waste oil—supporting sustainability in PNG.

Future Plans

Planned installation of an HDPE bottle-making line to produce 1L and 5L bottles for our coolant range.
